Today I’ll share practical methods to power your cameras and equipment for your church livestream without breaking the bank or compromising reliability. Let’s dive in!

If your camera remains stationary, utilizing AC wall power or dummy batteries is the simplest solution. Dummy batteries mimic real batteries but draw power from an outlet, ensuring continuous operation without the risk of running out of battery mid-service. Most accessories can also be powered from the wall, reducing the need for multiple batteries and chargers.

For handheld or frequently moved cameras, battery power is necessary. While USB power bricks offer a budget option, v-mount batteries provide a more reliable solution. V-mount batteries, common in professional film equipment, offer high capacity and various power outputs, including d-tap ports for accessories.

For cameras incompatible with v-mount batteries, v-mount plates serve as an intermediary, providing multiple power outputs from a single battery. These plates offer versatility and convenience, allowing you to power all camera accessories efficiently.

Mounting v-mount batteries directly onto tripods or utilizing belt packs for handheld cameras distributes weight and improves mobility. Despite the initial investment, v-mount batteries prove cost-effective in the long run, providing hours of uninterrupted power during livestream productions.

Whether using wall power, USB bricks, or v-mount batteries, ensure you have spare batteries on hand to prevent disruptions during livestreams. Understanding the available options and selecting the most suitable power solution for your church setup is essential for seamless productions.

Until next time!
